In a world where everyone is hella racist, a pariah from an especially hated race determines that the best way to change the world is to enter a popularity contest.

- His main rival is this handsome playboy military type, who is basically this world's equivalent of a pasty white man.
- They're also competing against the Pope.
- The pariah does eventuallly collect friends, one from each race. As it happens, a majority of them either deserted the army or were dishonorably discharged.
- The pariah and his friends are able to manifest latent powers by ripping their hearts out of their chests.
- The pariah is able to enhance his powers by reading a book about a place where people are not, in fact, racist.
- The book's author is also this world's equivalent of a pasty white man. And is also a literally pasty white man.
- The "popularity contest" is an election for king.
- (Spoilers) It turns out that the Pope is the CEO of racism, while the military playboy hates everyone equally.
